Day 10

Mike -

Another day ticked off. Another positive uneventful day. Fitting in to my work shirts much better now and generally feeling much healthier. Far from feeling tired i now seem to be full of energy. I headed to Tesco after work to get some different mushrooms for the delightful dish that Liz has been raving about for the last few days. The bakery smelled good but not good enough to draw me in. The most tempting thing for me whilst i was there which i have had a real hankering for recently is spicy coated peanuts. I love them and right now that seems to be what my stomach desires.

Lunch was lovely and i really enjoyed the courgette spaghetti which we fried in a little oil. I added chilli to mine again which kicked it up a notch. Adding salt to a dish with a lot of soy sauce was a mistake by me truth be told but it didn't spoil a very enjoyable lunch. Again once i have got through this phase that dish would be really nice with a bit of fried steak mixed in amongst it which we can explore once we have put the hard miles in.

After lunch i took Lexi for a stroll before she went to the groomers. Was nice to get out and stretch my legs and get some fresh air. We went to see some friends whilst Lexi was there and I was discussing going to see a football match and having a few pints. This is something else I can look forward to in future.

Liz -

Another day down, i woke up this morning feeling absolutly awful (Still side effects from the jab i think) but i got myself out of bed, hads a shower and cracked on with my first shake of the day. Today i tried one of the new bana Shakethatweight shakes. I must say i needed a spoon to get this out my bottle, it tasted AMAZING but was a very thick shake. This however did fill me up somewhat which is never a bad thing at all.

Then it was time for work, i thought i can crack on through and not worry about food, then Mike text me and started asking what mushrooms we needed for our main meal today and my stomach starting going mad. Mushrooms, food, something to eat, this is what i needed - i suddenly started craving food, this is the first time i've really started craving food and i couldn't wait for him to get home so i could cook or main meal for lunch.

Now today's lunch was simple but very effective. Mixed mushrooms, ginger, garlic (plenty of) and soy sauce, now previously my mum would have served me this on a nice bed of noodles, but not for us. We sliced some courgettes and pan fried these and used them to place the mushrooms on. The smells were devine and i couldn't wait to tuck it. It was worth the wait thats for sure. I always used to love this meal at my mum & dads, however today it was even better with the courgettes as an accompliment. (sorry mum)

After work we downed a quick shake (chocolate this time) before taking Lexi to the groomers and popping off to see our friends whilst she was there. The smells of their dinner cooking were incredible but it didn't tempt me. As we are all foodies of course food was topic of conversation but again this didnt seem to bother me i wasn't worried. I stayed strong and we came home to our final shakes of the day.

I'm surprised at myself to be honest as to how much i've resisted food & how i can still talk about food without worrying about actually eating it.

Tomorrow i'm hoping to get back to the gym and this will require a nice dinner when i get back home. We are going to try stuffed aubergine this time instead of peppers, not sure if i will like it or not. But i must say trying new foods is one of the things i enjoy most about this diet, i would happily have all the meals we have had so far once we finish the full course.

Phase 2 Update

I have to say that sticking to phase 2 is still presenting a real challenge. Still not quite finding the right balance. Water consumption...
