Last day at work today before a lovely week off. I received a few complimentary comments about my weight loss at work which was nice. It's been a full on week at work this week so i feel i am ready for a break. I am worried that temptation will be harder with no work as a distraction but after such an incredible journey so far i will not give in.
I picked Jack up from school and it was so lovely to see him after 2 weeks. He seemed so happy to see me and he went for his run around the park for a little while before we left for home. We listened to his book on the way home and had an enjoyable journey home catching up. He told me that i wasn't fat anymore which means a lot coming from a 6 year old.
This evening we had my mum and dad round to look after Jack so we could go and have dinner with my Aunt, Uncle and cousin. I could tell when we arrived at their home they were really impressed with my dance for their Ring doorbell. They were all very complimentary about our weight loss and how well we both looked. My Aunt cooked us a special dinner from our Newcastle diet plan and it was sublime. The add of tumeric to cauliflower rice was a fantastic addition and bought it to life even more. We had a lovely eveving with them and can't wait to do it again. Our turn to host next time though. I thought that things like this would be tricky with such a restricted diet but it was one of the most pleasant evenings we have had together in other peoples company. Although a glass of the red wine they were drinking would have gone down nicely. We both stuck to decaf tea for the evening. It was late by the time we got home hence the late arrival of the blog. Overall it was a perfect day.

A lovely day today, woke up feeling good. Went to the gym this morning for a leg workout then I knew it was my last day at work for a week (always a nice feeling). The day dragged a little but I got everything upto date and felt good when I logged off.
We then had to get ready to go out, for the first time since we have stsrted this diet we were going out for the evening, Mikes parents came round to babysit Jack and we went off to see his Aunt (Mags) & Uncle (Si) and their daughter Nicole for dinner. Mags is so sweet, before we went she checked in with us as to what we could/couldn't est and she cooked up some stuffed peppers and an amazing curry with pilau rice, she added some tumeric to the cauliflower and this tasted absolutly amazing, soemthing I will be adding in the future for sure.
We had a wonderful catch up with them all and things started to feel a little normal again. I do however feel a little guilty that she cooked such an amazing meal but I couldn't eat it all as my stomach has shrunk for sure. We drank plenty of decaf tea and had some water also, we made sure they carried on with the wine and tried to explain we didn't mind if they drank around us. This hasn't seemed to bother us at all during this process as we are so focused on our end goal.
We have a busy week this week with half term and having Jack but i'm looking forward to hopefully having some chill time too. We are half way through our journey now and then we can start introducing step 2 and have some meat again - I can't wait for this as I do miss a bit of chicken / a pork chop.
