Liz -
We must really start bogging again more often, life has just been so hectic lately but now we are settled we will get back into it. Although Phase 2 there isn't as much to say as it seems to be natural to us both now.
Over the weekend we had our first few meals, a woinderful bbq with some of Mike's family on Sunday, the first in our new home and it was incredible. I spent the morning making pasta salad (gluten free) with tuna, sweetcorn, onions and mayo, a potatoe salad and some chicken kebabs with my mums marinade recipe on. It was lovely to be able to eat a little more like everyone else, although I did make sure I stayed away from the bread as this can be very bloating having not had it for 8 weeks.
Tonight we then had the leftovers from the bbq and these were still just as filling,
It's back to usual routine again now with my first day working from the new house, it seemed noiser here with the building still going on around the estate but I also felt like I had some form of company. After a week with Michael it felt odd not having him here. But I had a shake throughout the day and a nice pot of decaf coffee to keep me going. The day soon went quickly and Michael & Jack were back home.
I know I now need to up my exercise as no more gym for me (it's too far to travel from here) so this evening after dinner and putting Jack to bed I went for a walk to our local village shop - it took me around 13mins to get there but I was walking at a fair speed. Coming back took a little longer as 6 pints in a rucksack seems to slow me down, but it felt nice to be out and about and getting some exercise.
We are going to finally have our first evening together infront the TV tonight and try to relax for the first time together in our new home (I've been working in the pub Sat & Sunday evening). It'll be nice to enjoy our new home together. We've got a busy week this week with handing back the keys to our old place, collecting my new car, band rehersals and just not a lot of time together. Excited that I get to see Lexi again on Friday it's been 3 weeks since I last saw her as she's been on holiday with her dad. So we are going to check out some local walks and both get back to exercising more again to tone up following our weight loss.
Mike -
It's been a busy few days for us both but we have our lovely home set up the way we want it although this evening is probably the first time we will get to enjoy it together and relax for a while. The rest of the week we are busy doing one thing or another so we are going to enjoy a bit of time together tonight.
Going back to work was good and gave me something else to focus on for a little while. The weeks i have Jack the days fly by so quickly. People still seem shocked with how different i look. Tomorrow i am back in to the office near Jacks school and will have meetings galore undoubtedly. I want the weekend to come round quick as i still feel tired from last week.
Going back to having meals again has been good. I have found my appetite coming back now that we aren't quite so restricted. We did a bbq yesterday for my family and there was me after i had cooked it all cleaning my new bbq. For those that know me thats really not like me to voluntarily do things like that but new house, new body and new me. I want to take more pride in myself and my possesions and look after them more than i used to. It has only taken me 35 years to realise how i take things for granted and if i don't look after them they spoil over time. Still i look at what i have accomplished over the last 8 weeks and can say to myself that if i put my mind to things i can achieve almost anything.
Tomorrow i plan to go to the pub and see us get some revenge over the old enemy (i hope) and enjoy a few drinks. That does depend on Jack settling when we get back from school but i have faith.
Carpe Diem 4L
